Why Easter?

Ever wondered why we call Easter, Easter? Well, it is connected to a German word that means “dawn, sunrise, or east”, rooted in the Old German word for “resurrection”.

Alot took place the week of Easter. Maundy Thursday, where Jesus washed feet and gave a new commandment at the Last Supper to love another as He loved. The garden of Gethsemane, the betrayal, the suffering, the trials and false accusations. Passover, being celebrated for the escape from Egypt, not knowing that Jesus would now be the One and Only Sacrificial Lamb that very night.
He died such a brutal death on the cross for you and for me. What kind of love is this? And then, He was taken from the cross and placed in a tomb. And they waited. In grief and anguish, they waited. With little hope left, they waited. Then, it came!!!
Then Came The Morning! At Easter, at dawn and sunrise, Mary Magdalene discovered that the tomb was empty and Jesus had defeated death, hell and the grave for you and for me! He paved the way for us to be reconciled to God!
Watch The Nelons sing “Then Came The Morning” and give all praise to our Savior Jesus! Morning had come and with it, new life through Him!!!
Alot can happen in a week. If yu long for heaven, morning is coming. If you desperately need something that is dead to be revived, morning is coming. Wherever you are, your morning is coming!
Wherever you are, your morning is coming!
Happy Easter, Everyone!!!
