Trusted Hope

Proverbs 13 was so good today! Such wisdom and such Truth that we must lay hold of and practice as a way of life!!! Revelation plus Application equals Transformation! This is wisdom and wisdom is the way to reign in this life!

Today, of course, we probably all landed on the verse 12 that says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”

There’s nothing worse than having a hope in something and it seems to never come to pass. So we wait and wait and wait. Sometimes we wait well and sometimes not so much! Our heart is just sick as we wait for what we believe the Lord showed us!

Hope in the Bible means “a confident expectancy that God will do what He said He would do.” So waiting in confident expectancy, especially when it is taking a long time, is extremely difficult!

But boy, when that deep longing for is fulfilled, there is such joy and celebration!! We start telling everyone about what God has done!!!

Yet, Hebrew’s 6:19 says “Hope is an anchor for my soul, firm and secure.” So it is this confident anticipation that keeps our soul from running amuck while we wait! Often in my seasons of waiting, I have simply said, “All I know is what God said.” That’s statement of hope holds me steady when everything around me is taking me all over the place emotionally, in my soul.

And what is the substance of my hope? Faith!!!

Hebrews 11:1 and “Faith IS the substance of things hoped for.” In other words, as we wait for what we hope, we, in confidence, believe by faith that God is true to His Word and He does not change! Won’t He do it????

So if you find yourself feeling like your hope in something, that you truly believe is from the Lord, is taking forever, and you are weary, press into the Lord and remember to trust God with all your heart! He has and will never fail you. He keeps His promises and He does not change.

If it is from God, it’s a guarantee, so you can have FAITH as you HOPE!!! And there WILL be a day that it will come to pass and God WILL grow you into a tree of life where others: sit in your shade, find healing, and are nourished by the fruit you produce.

So wait in FAITH with HOPE! You will see the goodness of the Lord in the perfect time!!!
