The Story I'll Tell

As I was sitting with the Lord over the Easter weekend, I was reminded that when Jesus went to the cross, it was the Passover celebration. Jesus became the perfect once and for all sacrifice for our sins. No need for an animal sacrifice any more. He paid the ultimate and final price for us. Still amazes me.

Jesus told His disciples that after He died and rose again, to stay in Jerusalem until He gave them the promised Holy Spirit in Luke 24:49, and Acts 1:4. We call that moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, Pentecost. Pentecost means "fiftieth" because this happened 50 days after Passover.

It got me to thinking about the disciples. The Bible said they stayed at the Temple and praised the Lord. It says that they were together when the Holy Spirit came upon them. So, what were they talking about? The Bible does not tell us, but from what I have experienced in my lifetime when I have lost a loved one, perhaps they spent the majority of their time telling all the stories of the wonderful miracles they experienced with Jesus. Can you just imagine the stories they told each other?

It got me to thinking about the 50 days between Easter/Passover and Pentecost today. Could we also be using this time to tell OUR story? I mean, if I were able to share with other followers of Jesus, what story would I tell?

So, I made a short, 10 minute video of my story: how I was before Jesus, how I came to know Jesus, and how different I am today because of Jesus. I am posting it here, but I am also posting it on my social media.

Maverick City just put out a song called "The Story I'll Tell" and here is a portion of the lyrics:

I'll testify of the battles You've won

How You were my portion when there wasn't enough

And I'll testify of the seas that we crossed

The waters You parted, the waves that I walked

Oh, my God did not fail

Oh, it's the story I'll tell

Oh, I know it is well

Oh, it's the story I'll tell

I want to challenge each of you to tell your story through video on your social media, as well. Just go on your Facebook profile and post the video you took with your phone or go LIVE and do it that way. Tag me (@jenaforehand) so all of our stories can be found in one place and others can hear your story! And use the hashtag #freedomstory2021 .

You have no idea this side of heaven how your story could touch the heart of another. How your story could help someone find Jesus! Wow! So press through your fear, and share your story! I can't wait to hear it!!!

You are loved,

jena
