Do This In Remembrance Of Me

This past week, our family was able to make the trip to Disney World. From Magic Kingdom, to Epcot, to Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, we try not to miss a single ride and show! And we never miss the opportunity for Disney's famous Dole Whip!!! Honestly, I turn into a kid again, laughing my head off every time my tummy drops!

This trip has become a deeply meaningful and special trip for us because when God put our family back together after 8 years of marriage and a 2 year, nasty divorce, we took our whole family to Disney World to celebrate what God had done! It is extremely special to us!

From that day forward, Dale and I have tried to save our money to take our family back to Disney every other year, to remind ourselves of what God did and what God does when hearts are humbled and surrendered to Him. He receives ALL the glory! God can take something so broken and turn it into something so beautiful if we will let Him. Disney is our family's celebration for God restoring our family!

Throughout the Old Testament, God reminded His people of what He had done. In Deuteronomy 6, we are reminded not to forget where we came from and what God did. Even in 2 Peter, he says that it is a good thing to be reminded of some things. And of course, when we take of the sacraments of the Lord's Supper we call Communion, we do it in remembrance of all Jesus did for us.

Remembering Can Remind Us

Of God's Miraculous Hand In Our Lives

So here we are today. Our family has certainly grown a good bit and Dale and I have more wrinkles and grey hair, but we still celebrate our great God who works wonders and miracles in His people! I hope that our family continues to celebrate Disney and tells the story of God's miraculous hand to every generation that comes behind us, long after we are gone. As they tell this God-story, I hope that they will know the power of our God to heal and mend the most broken of things, and have hope and courage as they journey with God.

I pray that for any of you who feel as though you are in a very broken and hopeless situation, our story will not only give you encouragement, but that our healing and freedom story will also be a reality for you, beloved. He has SO much more that He wants to do in and through you. Don't give up. Keep pressing in to Him. He can do the impossible.

"Now to Him who is able to do so much more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21
