The Holy Spirit is enthusiastic about you because enthusiastic comes from the root word that means “God within”!!! So if the Holy Spirit lives within you, then He is enthusiastic about you becoming all God created you to become!!! It also means that YOU can be enthusiastic in your daily living!
The Bible uses several different words for enthusiasm, but one in particular is “eager.” Eagerness is an attitude of enthusiasm about your becoming with God and your serving others well. Here’s a few Scriptures that command us to be eager:
Eager to Serve (1 Peter 5:2)
Eager for the Gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:12)
Eager to Finish the Work of Faith (2 Corinthians 8:11)
Eager Expectation in Waiting for God (Romans 8:9)
Eager to Do what is Good (Titus 2:14)
The Holy Spirit will help you both be enthusiastic but also help you maintain enthusiasm. Why? Because He IS enthusiasm!!! He will help you become an overcomer and will give you victory. And, it will be your enthusiasm that creates a better atmosphere, helps God’s will happen on earth, and makes life exciting and fun!!!
So often, our lives are bombarded with negativity. Negative people can suck enthusiasm right out of a place!!! If you surround yourself with negative people for too long, you will begin to take that negativity on without even realizing it!! That is why we have to practice enthusiasm. You do that by intentionally thinking, believing, asking for, and talking about it until enthusiasm becomes a natural part of who you are. When you do, you will soon find that enthusiasm can be just as contagious as negativity!
So ask the Holy Spirit to help us understand and fully grasp His enthusiasm for us! Then, ask Him to help you grow in and to practice enthusiasm. Begin to tame your tongue from negativity. Make the best of everything! That’s what the Holy Spirit does! He takes everything and makes it a teaching moment for us! (Romans 8:28)
Isaiah 9:7 says, “The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this”, and as we submit ourselves to developing this in our lives, the Lord will delight in giving this in full measure to us!! So, let's ask the Holy Spirit to make us as enthusiastic in life, as He is towards us! And that's a lot!!!!
