As a child, one of my favorite things to do was to play "hide and seek"! As a matter of fact, I still play it today with my grandchild! There's just something about the fun of finding or the fun in making it hard to be found!
The Bible tells us alot about seeking. The Bible says that Jesus came to seek to and save those who were lost. (Luke 19:10) The Bible says that we are to seek Him with all of our hearts. (Jeremiah 29:13) The Bible also encourages us to invite the Holy Spirit seek us! (Psalm 119:23-24) And finally, the Bible tells us that we have an enemy who is also seeking to kill, steal and destroy us! (John 10:10)
So what do we do with that?
Do we walk around in fear of the enemy's attacks? Absolutely not!
The Bible also says that if we seek God, we WILL find Him! The Bible says that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to you. (James 4:8) That means the "I Am" is near to you. So my question for you is "If the I AM is near you, can the enemy touch you?" Nope!!!
"The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 81:10
When we run to who God is as our I AM, we will find safety from the enemy.
But also check out this verse:
"Resist the devil and he will flee from You." James 4:7 The word "resist" is "anthistemi" where we get our word "antihistamine". It actually means "to hold to the authority or force of anything". Reminds me of Ephesians 6 "having done all to stand, stand!" An antihistamine stands against allergens and blocks them from entering the bloodstream.
Here's another verse for you: "Though the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will hold a standard against him." Isaiah 59:19
Here's what I want to encourage you with today: When the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy you, remember and run to the I AM who is King of the Kingdom of Heaven. He is responsible for His citizens, so He will SO take care of you! Stand in Who you know and Whose you are, and watch the Lord block the enemy from touching you!
Finally, the Bible says that when we come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord, we are hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3). The word "hidden" means "concealed by covering".
The other day, I went to put my grandson down for his nap and when he woke up and called me to come get him, I opened the door only for him to be sitting up in his bed with his blanket covering him up! He was convinced that I could not see him!
What if in God's Kingdom economy, we are to live by faith, believing that we are so covered, that the enemy cannot touch us? How would we live differently if we were convinced of that one truth?
What if in God's Kingdom economy, we are to live believing that we are so covered, that the enemy cannot touch us.
So draw nearer and nearer to God. Run to His name as the "I AM exactly what you need" God. And be convinced that you are covered by the blood of Jesus and hidden in God. Therefore, the enemy can seek to steal, kill, and destroy you all day long, but he will never be able to get near you, because you are so near to God, that you are hidden from the devil.
Be encouraged in knowing who God is for you!!!
