Fall Is Coming

by Julie Hopper

I had an encounter with the Lord this past week that I’d like to share with you all. I was busy working at my desk in my office when suddenly a small leaf floated down and landed on the desk right where I was typing. I looked up to see where in the world it might have come from with no open window or outside doors anywhere near! Then, I plainly heard God speak to me and say, “fall is coming.”

Now, I realize in the literal sense fall is coming since this month is September, but in the spiritual sense, God said to me in that moment the leaf fell on my desk, “Your fall is coming!” The season that I have been waiting and praying for is coming. Maybe you have been waiting for it as well.

The season that you have been waiting for and praying for is coming.

In the Proverbs series with Jena Forehand this summer, she gave us the opportunity to join The Deeper Dive. There, we had just finished discussing the spiritual seasons. Winter being time to rejuvenate for spring planting seeds, then summer to water the seeds, then fall comes the harvest of those seeds!

I have found myself in what has seemed like a long spiritual spring and summer and I’m ready to see these seeds that I’ve planted and watered be ready for harvest!

When God said this to me, I just sat at my desk and wept, held this tiny leaf, and thanked the Lord for His promises to us that every good work He is faithful to complete. He sees everything we are doing for the advancement of His kingdom in His name, and He is going to make that fruitful in His time.

Friends, I ask you this, what season do you find yourself in? If you have been working diligently in your winter, spring, and summer, you can rest assured that God is faithful in bringing the fall in His time. Amen!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9
