Return To Me

In 2000, a movie came out called “Return To Me”. If you haven’t seen it, it is a really cute and sweet movie. My husband, Dale watched it with me, and though it is not his style of movie watching, I think I saw a little tear come up in his eye!!!

The storyline goes like this: heartbroken and struggling emotionally after his wife's death in a car accident, Bob Rueland agrees to go on a blind date set up by his friend Charlie. Though the date fizzles, sparks fly between Bob and the waitress, Grace, a recovered heart transplant patient with intimacy problems of her own. When Bob discovers Grace's heart came from his own organ donor wife, an unusual romance blossoms between the two.

Bob’s wife’s heart returned to him through Grace!!! Hence the name of the movie, Return To Me!

As we are in the middle of the Jewish time of Teshuvah, a time of returning to the Lord, I thought about this movie. God created our hearts for Him. He lost our hearts at the Fall as we gave our focus and affections to other people and things. Our selfishness led to sin and our hearts were far from Him. But because of God’s deep love and grace, He sent Jesus to pay for our sin so that we could return to God. when we accept Jesus as the Savior and Lord of our lives, we have returned to God through the grace of Jesus!

Our hearts returned to Him because of His Grace!!!

And it doesn’t stop there! For every moment that you choose to fix things without God, or react in the flesh, or slide into complacency with Him, His grace is there…His love is there to woo us to returning.

Have you walked away from God in some way or in some area? Have you taken on the lead in your life when He deserves that rightful place?

Father God is saying to you, ”Return To Me”! Bring whatever it is back to your Abba and let Him lead you, guide you, comfort you, encourage you, and strengthen you. Trust Him! He is so trustworthy!!!

“Therefore tell the people: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty.” Zechariah 1:3

Much love to you,

jena
