Many of you already are aware of the attack of Hamas on Israel. Today, I would like to bring some clarity given to us in the Bible.
There is a Hebrew word in the Bible called "Hamas" and it means "violence; cruelty; and to violently seize and injure."
The first mention of this word is in Genesis 6:11, in the story of Noah and the ark. It says, "Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence (Hamas)." They were FULL (no room for anything else) with violence, so God "wiped out" all mankind that was not on the ark. God wiped out Hamas.
In Genesis 16:5 it says this: "And Sarai said unto Abram, 'My wrong (Hamas) be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.'" So Sarah and Abraham chose to
"cast out" Hagar. I would like to suggest that they were not casting out the woman. They were casting out the demonic spirit of hamas from their home.
In Ezekiel 28, many believe that this is speaking both of a physical king but also satan himself. Ezekiel 28:16 says that he was "filled with violence (Hamas)." And the fate is that satan will "come to a horrible end and will be no more."
Hamas is a violent group of people, who hate the Jewish people and are possessed with this violent spirit. And God has made it perfectly clear what is to happen to them.
Hamas is filled with violence and is the total antithesis of being filled with the Spirit.
Hamas is filled with violence and is the total antithesis of being filled with the Spirit. It is anti-Christ in every way, opposing all that Jesus encompasses.
I would also suggest that many in America today are oppressed, if not possessed, by the spirit of Hamas. They are looking for a fight, and their heart is set on violence. They are angry, hold a grudge, think the world owes them, and are waiting for any little thing that they believe warrants a violent response.
So what do we do? We pray for Israel. "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee." Psalms 122:6
"For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted." Isaiah 50:12 We pray for protection, peace, and restoration. We pray for the spirit of Hamas to be broken in the world and in America.
And when we see demonic activity, what are we to do? We are to act in the opposite spirit! So now more than ever, we need to be filled with the Spirit, asking the Holy Spirit to give us noticeable fruit. That we would offer LOVE in the face of hate. "Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful." Colossians 3:14-15
So with Hamas being so loud, Christians,
it is time that our love be even louder...our peace be even louder....and for God's sake, our UNITY be ever so louder.
