About

Hey, my name is Jena Forehand. First and foremost, I am a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. I love my husband, and my two children more than words. Originally from Albany, Georgia, home of red clay and boiled peanuts, my husband and I live in Birmingham, Alabama where good food, and college football are always the focus. I am a golf playing, ice cream eating, lover and seeker of the abundant life. I believe Jesus’ favorite zip codes are Seagrove Beach and Red Lodge, Montana. And I love God’s people.

God has gifted me to be a student/proclaimer of His Word. Encouraging the Body of Christ through speaking and writing is where I come alive. The Holy Spirit has placed a fire in my belly to help women find the pathway to the abundant life for which Jesus gave His life. It is the desire of my heart to help women walk with God and take others with them. It’s the Great Commission, and I am committed to living it out.

Some of you may want a list  of credentials that give me credibility. Honestly, I’d just like to be known as a slave of Jesus Christ. If I have accomplished anything, it is because God did it all, and I can take no credit. My husband and I founded Stained Glass Ministries after the death, burial, and resurrection of our marriage. To God be ALL the glory. Since 1998, we have had the awesome privilege to travel this great nation, leading marriage conferences in the local church and with some of the leading marriage and family ministries in America.

The Lord allowed us to write our first book, Stained Glass Marriage that was followed by our Let’s Get Real™ DVD driven Bible Study. It is such a joy to lead the Let’s Get Real™ Marriage Conference and watch God transform individuals and marriages. It’s been amazing. As God turned my heart toward women and their desire for direction and discipleship, I was given the opportunity to author the Living Deeper Series, a 7-book series designed to carry women down an intentional pathway to finding the life they have always wanted, and helping others do the same.

As a result, the Lord birthed Living Deeper Ministries.® It is our heart to help women walk with God and become the authentic women they were meant to be: body, soul and spirit. We aim to enlighten, encourage, equip, and empower women with everything they need to walk with God and take others with them. You can check out all these resources HERE. I started a growing website and blog in 2013, which is constantly being developed and evaluated to better serve and minister to you.

Ministry Partnerships

It has been a great honor to be a guest on the 700 Club, Focus on the Family, and James Robinson’s Life Today. It has also been a sheer joy and honor to partner with LifeWay at their Marriage GetAways and DOTmom events, as well as writing both articles and devotions for LifeWay’s Homelife magazine and Group Publishing. And last but certainly not least, I am humbly grateful to the thousands of women and numerous churches who have allowed me the privilege to speak into their lives over the years. That is no small thing.

What I Write About

For years, I was on a personal journey to become authentic, the real woman God made me to be, and the freedom to live that out loud. Along the way, I had to evaluate the perspective I had of myself: body, soul, and spirit, and realign these areas to God’s perspective. As a result, I discovered my purpose and have had the joy of leading others along that same pathway of discovery with Jesus.

If I could give myself a title, it might be “the Living Deeper Coach”. Coaches teach, train and build teams that intend to win. I am choosing to own that role and be intentional about it. My mission is to help women live in a deeper place with the Father, and fulfill the purposes for which they were created, discovering for themselves, the truly abundant life Jesus died to give them.

To that end, I write about becoming a better person: body, soul, and spirit. I also write about relationships in marriage, parenting, ministry, and the Church. I will also write about developing as a leader, and what it looks like to find direction and purpose for your life. Sometimes, I may write about stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into one of these categories, but I usually try to stay in these lanes. You can find out more on my START HERE page.

I will soon be adding a weekly podcast called, “BIG SPLASH PODCAST”. The goal is for you to discover the purposes for which you were created and make your own BIG SPLASH in your sphere of influence. We will also periodically have special guests who share from their personal journeys of discovering their purpose and making a difference in their communities. It is very inspiring, empowering, and compelling, motivating you to go make a BIG SPLASH in your world.

My goal is to create insightful, relevant content that can work practically for you. If you consider yourself a woman who wants all that God has for her, then this blog is for you. I typically post three times a week, occasionally more. To make sure you don’t miss my newest posts, you can subscribe via email. It’s quick, easy, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

My Family

My husband, Dale, and I were married eight years, divorced, and God put our family back together again. You can read our redemption story, HERE. We have been together now for over 30 years and have enjoyed 18 years in marriage ministry. We have one son, one daughter, one daughter-in-law, and a granddog named “Hugo”.

Family

My free time is spent with family, which is most important to me. I also enjoy working out and eating healthy as a lifestyle that I learned through Isagenix. I also enjoy playing golf, refurbishing old furniture, and any kind of drawing or painting. I constantly have a couple of books going, because I really enjoy a good book that stretches me in my spiritual growth. I enjoy being outdoors in God’s beautiful creation, walking the beaches of Seagrove, hiking trails at home and climbing mountains in Montana. I am a member of the Church of the Highlands in our hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, which also makes me a big Alabama fan.
