HERE: Day 45

Matthew 28:1-20

The Most Beautiful 11 Words In The Bible:

“He is not here; He is risen, just as He said!”

Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man can come to the Father except through Jesus. Jesus. The name above all names. The perfect Son of God. The perfect lamb of God slain for us. Jesus. He paid the penalty for my sin and yours, so that we could be restored to relationship with God. Jesus. Placed in a borrowed tomb, BUT GOD RAISED HIM UP! “He is not here; He is risen, just as He said” He would. He kept His promise. HE HAS DEFEATED DEATH, HELL AND THE GRAVE! “Death, where is your sting? Grave where is your victory?”

The Most Beloved 11 Men In The Bible:

“When they saw Him, they worshipped Him.”

Can you just imagine the amazement? The enlightenment to all He had said and promised? So much became clear. So much confirmed. They had chosen to follow Him, and they chose correctly. How their faith must have been strengthened! It says that some of them doubted, but soon, that vanished as they saw the scars and spent more time with Him. He was indeed who He said He was and He indeed did what He said He would do! How rooted. How confident they must have become!

And it begs this question for us today:

What does the resurrection of Christ mean to you every day?

In the situations you face today, what does the fact that Jesus rose from the dead mean to you? Maybe you are in a situation that has knocked you down. And just maybe the resurrection of Christ means that since He got up for you, you can get up for Him. Maybe just as He was put to death so that others could live, you need to put to death some things in your life that are prohibiting you from truly living.

The Most Bold Commission Entrusted To Man:

“Go into all the world and make disciples.”

Jesus spent 33 years on this earth making disciples. He set us an example to walk with Him and take others with us. Then, He left this earth, entrusting of to continue what He started. Wow. What an honor. He had faith in me; in YOU, to continue His work of making disciples.

And it begs this question for us today:

Are you taking the Great Commission seriously?

My prayer is that as we wrap up the study of the Book of Matthew, you’ve seen Jesus for who He truly is, not only in His teachings, but in the way He modeled how to live, in front of His followers. I hope that your heart has been transformed as you have entered deeper into the heart of God to see the beautiful heart of Jesus. I hope it has sparked in you a deep desire to know Him more and to hunger for a heart like His.

“Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven”

His Kingdom comes to earth through you and me. Right now. In this season. While we are HERE. Let’s seek to have His heart and express His heart accurately to a world that desperately needs to see Him.

Thank you for journeying this with me.

You are loved,

Jena

  1. This has been such a great study Jena! Thanks for all the work you do to present the Word of God and help others know Him (not just about Him) more!

  2. Thank you Jena! It’s been a rich and rewarding time walking with Jesus through Matthew’s gospel. His story never gets old. I love reading about the life of Christ because he truly lived. He lived the full and abundant life that he now wants us all to live WITH him. WITH. This one word sums up Matthew’s gospel and the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew begins the story of Jesus with his birth and declares in 1:23, “She will give birth to a son and they will call him Immanuel, which means God is with us. Matthew concludes his gospel with Christ’s Great Commission and declares in 28:20, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age. The Kingdom of Heaven came here through Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven will be established on earth as it is in heaven when He comes again. Even, so come quickly Lord Jesus.
